Here we are at Week 9 of the Big IDEA – we’re wrapping up the process of Defining our Community (the D in The Big IDEA) this week.

Let’s summarize what we’ve accomplished in Defining our Community.

We spent a good bit of time discovering Where They Are, Where They Hang Out Online.

We explored how to find them in Forums using Search Engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. This speedy method can track down where your Community “lives” online and where they are congregating. You’ll remember that Forums are places where like-minded people have gathered to share information, tips and experiences.

We also spent time exploring how to find them on Facebook, and what a strong Community looks like on that site. We’re essentially looking for vibrant, active Communities where people are actively Engaged, participating, Liking, Commenting and Sharing the posts of those Communities.

Remember, Defining our Community is about finding them so we can Engage them, so we’ll be moving on to the Engagement step next week!

As we wrap-up Week 9, let’s review the basics of the Big IDEA.

Identifying our Passion helps us to focus on doing what we love Online – doing what we are Passionate about avoids just having another job we can’t stand! We also discussed that it’s important to make sure our Passion, our Niche is well-defined and Profitable - No sense chasing rainbows where there’s no pot of gold at the end!

Defining our Community is the process of finding out where Where They Are, Where They Hang Out Online. There are tons of places, and two of the best are Forums and Facebook.

Engaging our Community is the process of building relationships with them in order to eventually Advise them.

Advising our Community is the sale – we nurture our Community through that Engagement, and they eventually become Customers.

On to the Next Step!

Next week we’ll be diving right in to Engaging our Community, and what works best in that process. We’ll cover specific, actionable methods for talking to your target audience that truly builds relationships!

Remember, I’m here to help you through this process – don’t forget to drop me a line or leave a comment if I can help you with anything! I get questions each and every week, and I’d love to hear yours!

Kindest regards,

Greg
