This is Week 7 of the Big IDEA, and what a great week it is!

This week we are diving right into the details of Defining our Community (the D in The Big IDEA) and we’ll explore exactly Where They Are, Where They Hang Out Online.

We intend to Engage our Community, and in order to do that , we have to know where they are, how to reach them, and how they like to be communicated with!

You’ve heard the term used about wildlife, I’m sure – “their native habitat” – seeing them where they live.

Defining our Community is much the same – we need to find the “native habitat”, the place or places that our Audience, our Community lives. Once we find them, we can observe how they live, how they talk to one another, and we can begin to Engage them in that same manner.

Let’s remember that in the Big IDEA, Identifying our Passion leads to Defining our Community, where we can Engage them and eventually Advise them. Advising our Community is the sale – we nurture our Community through that Engagement, and they eventually become Customers.

It’s simple, really – it does take a bit of work, but it’s a very simple process, and repeatable for any Profitable Niche.

Let’s get back to Defining our Community – where are they hanging out? I’ve made you a quick video to show how we can quickly identify several places to find our Audience.

Note: You can make the video larger by clicking the box in the lower right.

Remember - while websites and social media often change how the appear or where info and buttons are, this process as show will still work.  Don't be distracted by change!

Simple enough, right? This video gives you one good example, the Forums we looked at, and one bad example, the Carnival Facebook Page. I thought the video was getting a bit long, so let’s take a look next week at some better examples of Facebook Pages that Define your Community.

For now, take time to go find your Community. Use Google and other Search Engines to find them in the Forums, and using these good examples as a guide, look around for people in your Niche.

I’ll be back again next week to help you better Define your Community.

Kindest regards,

Greg
